i’m tired of making capital investments for stuff. stuff, the vast majority of
which, i use a very tiny minority of the time. short of my bed, my bicycle, my
toothbrush, my computer, and my favorite pair of shoes, i don’t think there’s
anything i own that i use more than 10% of the time. probably 98% of it i use
less than 1% of the time. so how come you can’t borrow mine? because you don’t
know i have it and am willing to lend it out! how come i have to buy a
studfinder when i want one? because i don’t know you have one and are willing
to lend it out. i’d love to bridge the gap, and who knows, maybe get that
jumpstart on creating a kind of maneki-neko-ish directed gift society that makes
the world a better place.

I’ve been thinking about something like this too! Seems like there are some
examples for specific things like book lending etc. Have you seen any other good
examples?
