Google Groups are probably the best way to handle forums, but they’re missing a
few things to really be a forum replacement. This service would wrap Groups with
everything else you need.
Full Description:
A single Google Group is like a single forum, but most forums have multiple
forums or sections. You can make several Groups, but then you have to manage
them and make navigation to them obvious.
This service would let you signup, create or add Groups to your forum, which you
can then point your own domain to and customize. The service could then go as
far as to let you browse the group using the consistent site layout you setup…
Throw some ads on there and a simple premium account for no ads. Might take off?
But would at least be useful.
