Short Description:
Some sort of plugin or app of sorts that, when your browser Of Choice encounters
a “404 Not Found” page, it automatically checks the WayBack Machine on
archive.org for a cached, archived copy, for Your Convenience.
Full Description:
Wouldn’t it be nice if the url below had popped up when I looked for “the Hacker
FAQ” on ESR’s “How to Become a Hacker” page at the top of the link section?
I think so.

Epiphany (<3 epiphany!) gives you archive and google cache links for domains
that don’t respond. It shouldn’t be too hard to get it to do that for 404 links.

I like this idea a lot, it might try using the Google cache first, because
archive.org can be really slow sometimes.
And perhaps it can have a pop-up asking you if you’d like to go to
archive.org/google cache, as sometimes you might have clicked on something
accidentally and don’t actually want to be redirected.
