Take Google’s Tesseract OCR project and give it a web API. Let the web make
better use of real world input… camera phones + email + OCR web service = data
input from anywhere by taking a picture
Full Description:
Like DevjaVu, the first release of PBwiki, and a few others services, making an
open source project into a web service can make it much more accessible to more
people. It makes it convenient and in some cases can become the Internet
singleton instance of the project function.
Wrapping Google’s OCR project with a web API will make OCR available to anybody
with a crazy idea and some web skills.
